What is the cost of a TeleDentists Second Opinion?
The cost is $199. This fee includes an evaluation of your dental records, a written second opinion from a TeleDentists’s consultant that has a specialty/focus in the area of concern, and guidance throughout the process from our customer service representatives to help with the checklist of records and uploading them.
How do I get my report?
The TeleDentists specialist will send your consulting dentist the report. She/he will upload your case report to your account, and you will be notified by email. The email will include a link for you to download and save the report.
Will my insurance cover the cost of an Online Second Opinion?
Currently, most health plans do not cover online second opinions or consultations, so patients are responsible for the cost of the second opinion.
What is the timeline to receive an online second opinion?
We do our best to deliver your written second opinion as quickly as possible. However, the timeline can be variable based on availability of the specialist best suited to review your case. On average, once the records are received, you can expect to receive your second opinion within three days.
Do I need to send my medical records?
If you already have all of your dental records on hand, you can upload them directly to your TeleDentists file. Your TeleDentists Consultant will contact the right specialist to review your records and receive a consultation with professional recommendations.

Who chooses the dentist providing my second opinion?
After carefully reviewing your second opinion request and medical records, our experienced team of consulting dentists will determine which TeleDentists specialist is most appropriate to handle your online second opinion case.
Is this service available to anyone?
For the most part, yes. However, we cannot offer online opinions to a small number of individuals living in certain excluded states due to regulatory constraints. We will notify you directly if your state is excluded and refund all payments.
Is my dental and payment information secure?
Our online portal meets all federal requirements for protecting personal health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). In addition, The TeleDentists does not store any credit card information in our system. All financial transactions are processed securely using industry standard payment processing tools.
Can I schedule a follow up appointment with the specialist who provided my online second opinion?
Our goal is to keep the second opinion independent from providing care to the patient, so that there is no conflict of interest in providing advice
